# How Does One Cite a Source?
Citing sources is an important part of academic writing. It is important to properly cite sources in order to give credit to the original authors and to avoid plagiarism. Here are the correct ways to cite different types of sources:
When citing a book, you should include the author, title, place of publication, publisher, and publication year. For example:

When citing an article, you should include the author, title of article, title of journal, volume, issue, date, page numbers, and doi or permalink. For example:
Jones, M. (2020). The Science of Writing. Journal of Writing, 3(2), 12-17. doi: 10.12345/jow.2020.3.2.
## Web Page Resources
