# How Does One Cite a Source?
Citing sources is an important part of academic writing. It is important to properly cite sources in order to give credit to the original authors and to avoid plagiarism. Here are the correct ways to cite different types of sources:
## Books
When citing a book, you should include the author, title, place of publication, publisher, and publication year. For example:

## Articles
When citing an article, you should include the author, title of article, title of journal, volume, issue, date, page numbers, and doi or permalink. For example:

When citing a web page resource, you should include the author, title of page, web address or URL, and date of access. For example:
